Welcome to our blog!

I have had such amazing support and feedback since relocating to Colorado and getting back to the rural life. I can't thank my friends and family enough.  It was an incredibly hard decision to leave my comfortable and very happy life in AZ, but I'm a huge believer that you must follow your heart and that is what I have done.  It has already been such a wonderful and exciting adventure!  Building this new, incredible life and enjoying it with my parents is one of the best decisions I have made and it has already brought so much joy to my life.  Their life has been completely disrupted and turned upside down and I can't thank them enough for their patience and encouragement to follow my dreams.

I get so many requests for more farm and animal pics on Facebook so I decided to create a blog where I can post freely and not completely burn out my friends that may not be interested in hearing about the daily horse adventures or may not want to see yet another picture of the bunnies being cute :)  I also want a place where I can get into more detail about some of the adventures and challenges.  We have been trying to put weight on our senior mare, I would love to share what we've tried and what has brought results with my other horse friends.  We are learning about the hens as we go and even though we know it's too early, we still check for eggs every single day!  A big part of the joy of the animals and this new adventure is sharing it with the people I care about and miss terribly...I'm talking to you AZ and LA people!

Thanks again for your love and support and I hope you all will enjoy our blog.

Love Darcy, Sadie, and the entire gang at Sadie Acres

The site had to be named after Sadie.  This horse has changed my life for the better in so many ways.  After the most challenging year of my life I decided to go against every ounce of logic in me and buy her.  I had been leasing a horse for about 3 weeks, but aside from that I hadn't ridden on a regular basis for many years.  Although we've had our challenges, some quite comical, she has pushed me to work harder than I've ever worked to learn the proper way to ride and communicate with her in the saddle, I have made some of my best friends that I love dearly, and she helped lead me down the path to get back home to Colorado.  Thank you, Sadie, I am forever grateful!
